Script (4) A fold in time
2009, HDV, 2 minutes 30 seconds

In
Script (4) A fold in time we listen as the artist reads aloud from a Jorge Luis Borges short story 'The form of the sword'. The story tells of two men, who when faced with an impending battle, one leaves to fight while the other stays behind. The work becomes silent as the artist underlines "What one man does is something done, in some measure by all men" which becomes a line read in the book by the viewer. The tale continues as the artist stands by her studio window echoing the image on the cover of the book.

Script (4) A fold in time is the fourth in a series of short films, showing the artist making words, relevant to the filmed activity or making reference to filmic terms. Shot where the artist works they take the form of filmic exercises of studio activity. The Script series explores the textuality of the written word while considering issues pertaining to film's specificity.
