Script (4) A fold in time is the fourth in a series of short films, showing the artist making or exploring words, relevant to the filmed activity or making reference to filmic terms. Shot where the artist works they take the form of filmic exercises of studio activity. The Script series is an attempt by the artist to explore the textuality of the written word while considering issues pertaining to film's specificity.

In Script (4) A fold in time we listen as the artist reads from a Jorge Luis Borges short story 'The form of the sword'. The story tells of two men, who when faced with an impending battle, one leaves to fight while the other stays behind. As the hero tells of his sudden compassion for the coward, the difference between the two men becomes not so great. The work becomes silent as the artist underlines the line "What one man does is something done, in some measure by all men" which becomes in turn a line read from the book by the viewer. The tale continues as the artist stands by her studio window in a scene similar to the image on the cover of the book.

There are 10 films in the full series, the first 4 are completed, they consist of the filmed words ‘twinkle’, ‘brilliant’, ‘temps mort’ and ‘ What one man does is something done, in some measure by all men.’ The full planned sequence will include ‘fin', ‘actuality’, ‘virtual’, ‘loop’, ‘déjà-vu’ and ‘cut’. Some of the issues considered within this are slapstick, documentary, narrative structures, film noir, cinematic devices, closure and portraiture. The series explores the ‘magic’ of cinema while critiquing the nature of its medium and history.
