Little Bang
2001, web project
Commissioned by NIFCA, The Nordic Institute for Contemporary Art, Helsinki, Finland for their online gallery, IONIC
The web project Little Bang consists of an interactive dandelion clock. You can interact with the dandelion clock by causing it to rotate with a horizontal drag of the mouse. Drag the mouse across the dandelion and depending on your speed, the seedlings disperse and form a 'solar system' around the spinning clock head. You can increase the mass of the dandelion head by dragging the mouse in a downwards direction. As the mass increases, the gravitational pull of the head attracts the seedlings and they form tighter and tighter orbits until they are sucked back onto the dandelion’s head.
In collaboration with software designers, Juha Huuskonen and Arto Chydenius
